Specialist designers work in conjunction with the project’s architects. For example if a building involves glass structures specialist designers may become involved if they have an expertise in this area.
Specialist Designers’ responsibilities in the DQI process:
- Attend the DQI workshops
- Present their designs for the building to the workshop attendees
- Ensure the Assessment group understand the reason for their design decisions
- Receive and understand feedback from the Assessment group on their designs
- Respond to issues and feedback from the Assessment group
- Resolve issues in the design that have emerged as a result of the DQI workshops
