Find a Facilitator

Finding and Choosing a Facilitator
CIC maintains a register of Facilitators who are trained in facilitating use of the Design Quality Indicator.

How to choose a Facilitator
• Select from the database Facilitators who are happy to work with the building type and in the location you require.
• Email these facilitators a description of the project and questions you would like them to answer, a recommended format is below. Always include in the email a deadline for responses and a limit on the length of the response; we suggest no more than one side of A4.

Recommended format:
Your description of the project (or range of projects) should be no more than 200 words and include the following information:
• current stage (brief, mid design, ready for occupation, in-use)
• project type
• project size
• location
• time frame
• who’s involved
• purpose of using the DQI
• the primary contact (DQI leader)
• primary contact / the organisation’s use of the DQI before
• type of appointment (one assessment, several assessment on a project, range of projects, framework etc.) and any other relevant details

Ask the Facilitators to respond by answers to the following questions:
1. Please confirm there is no conflict of interest (Yes/No)
2. Why would you be appropriate for this project(s)?
3. What indicative rate would you charge?
4. Would you be available to undertake this work?
Include any other relevant questions to help you shortlist facilitators.
From the responses either: choose a facilitator, or shortlist no more than three facilitators to contact for more detailed proposals or interview.

Notes
*If the Facilitator’s name is not on the database please contact CIC to confirm their registration as some facilitators do not want their details to be made available on the public list.
If you have any questions about the Facilitators database please contact CIC on 020 7399 7424 email dqi@cic.org.uk. CIC is not able to provide shortlists of facilitators.
