Architect

The project architect is the person who draws up the designs for the new building or the design for a refurbishment of an existing building. The architect has the power to influence the building to a very large degree but will not be affected by the eventual building. For this reason it is very important that they are given access to the views, opinions and priorities of the Assessment group through the workshops.

Architect’s responsibilities in the DQI process:

  • Attend the DQI workshops
  • Present the designs for the building to the workshop attendees
  • Ensure the Assessment group understand the reason for various design decisions
  • Receive and understand feedback from the Assessment group on their designs
  • Respond to issues and feedback from the Assessment group
  • Resolve issues in the design that have emerged as a result of the DQI workshops
