School buildings are often made available for social activities, clubs, sports, etc. The DQI allows the users of these facilities to inform the design process to ensure that the new building is functional for all users.
Other building users' responsibilities in the DQI process:

- Ensure that the school building is conceptualised as being truly multi-purpose
