Local Authority Officers can represent two areas: construction and education. It is possible that one person can cover both roles but it is more likely that there will be an officer for each area. This role is very important in the construction or refurbishment of a school building as they are key decision makers. In a best practise scenario a Local Authority Officer would be the DQI Leader.
Local Authority Officers' responsibilities in the DQI process:
- Generate interest in the DQI process
- Promote the benefits of DQI
- Attend all workshops
- Encourage participation in the process from the school community
- Promote an open dialogue from all members of the workshop
