Why DQI was developed

The reason for developing DQI was to provide a tool to assess the quality of buildings. A multidisciplinary group under the guidance of CIC has been responsible for its development. This core group includes representatives from Buro Happold, Colander Consulting, Edward Cullinan Architects, Hoare Lee and Partners, Penoyre and Prasad LLP, and Imperial College London. This core group brought together the best intelligence on the issue of design quality, and also how best to assess inherent design quality.
